Loquat Trees

Loquat trees grow well in most areas of Australia – both subtropics and temperate climates. They are a medium sized evergreen fruit tree which yields clusters of refreshing small yellow/orange fruits, with the fruit coming in October – November. Loquat trees fill a gap when there is very little else around to harvest. Louis Glowinski describes loquats as “unbeatable during their brief season in early spring.” Loquat trees can grow to medium sized trees, but with careful pruning, can be kept to a containable size in backyards
