How We Do Business

All deciduous fruit trees are supplied ‘bare rooted’ as a grafted two year old tree. At this age they are a nice fresh tree, at the optimum stage for transplanting into gardens and orchards. They are mailed out to you between mid June and August, as this is when they have lost their leaves and gone ‘dormant’, and are therefore able to be moved and transplanted without any stress.

We grow a limited number of fruit trees each year, so we tend to sell out of many varieties well before the end of winter. It is up to you to put in your orders as early as you can, to ensure you get the varieties you want – we process the orders on a ‘first come first served’ basis.

Placing An Order

We have started a new online shop ordering system for season 2014 and beyond.  This will make the buying process really simple, quick and secure. Simply browse through the shop and when you locate the tree you are after, add it to the cart, then keep browsing for more. When you are ready, place the order, by going through the checkout process. There is a place for special order instructions in the checkout process if needed. You can then opt to pay using the direct deposit method into our bank account, by credit card (NOW AVAILABLE), or by sending us a cheque or money order. You will receive an email confirmation of the order you have placed (If you don’t hear from us please check your junk mail folder and then let us know). But payment must be received within one week of placing an order – your order will not be held for you if you have not made payment within a week.

The bank account details for transferring money if you missed them in the checkout process are:

Account Name:  Yalca Fruit Trees
Bank:  Bendigo Bank
BSB:  633000
Account Number:  135743342

IMPORTANT

If you are direct depositing into our account: use your online banking service, or go into a branch and transfer the money into our account. When you do this, please use your order invoice / number as a reference – otherwise your payment may not be able to be matched with your order.

***Payment must be made when you place your order, otherwise we cannot hold the trees for you***

Credit Card

We now take payment via Credit Card. Our checkout page is a secured page and the Credit Card payment option offers a quick and easy way to purchase your trees. After your have placed your order you should receive a confirmation email with an order summary. You may have to check your junk mail folder if you can’t find this confirmation and then if it still does not arrive please contact us.

Mail Order

mailing
Our sales are sent out by mail. This is a very safe, very cost effective, and successful way to have your trees delivered. The trees are dormant in the winter time, so they can be moved around without damaging them, as long as the roots are not allowed to dry out.

We wrap the roots in moist straw or sawdust, surrounded by plastic, tie the trees with string for support, and then wrap the whole bundle in heavy duty plastic, for protection and to ensure moisture content is maintained over the trip. We have no problems with trees drying out, and customers report tree bundles arriving in excellent condition through Australia Post.

To have trees mailed to you, simply select the correct shipping rate at checkout – these prices cover for the cost of postage and handling.
